The Association for Coaching (AC) established in 2002, is a leading independent and not-for- profit professional body dedicated to excellence, mastery and ethics in Coaching, worldwide. Our vibrant, diverse community is made up of professional Coaches, Leader Coaches, Mentors, Training Providers, Educators, Coach Supervisors and Organizations building Coaching cultures. Our vision is to advance the science and practice of Coaching and promote a Coach approach to leadership so that Coaching ‘ripples’ out in business and society as a key enabler for performance, responsibility and fulfilment.

PERSPECTIVES

CoachingShapes is the natural extension of the “Scuola Internazionale di Comunicazione e Immagine", founded in 1994, then merged into the "Accademia di Evoluzione Psicofisica" and thus became "The Milton H. Erickson Institute of Turin" in 1998.

The intense national and international experience gained since 2012 in the Coaching field has allowed a constant evolution of the technique and personal growth capable of overcoming the "barriers of time".

It would be useless to proceed with a list of activities and merits: Coaching is a "practical thing" that requires looks, intentions and a few but powerful questions capable of facilitating an evolutionary creativity through which the most ambitious goals will be achieved.

In fact, a “cascade of transformations” will be produced, which, by improving the quality of life, will reflexively allow a certain goal to be 'also' achieved. Especially in Generative Coaching, the primary objective is to stimulate an harmonious and natural growth of the Coachee, leading him/her towards new and better horizons of self-knowledge and the goals he/she wants to achieve.

COACHING FOR LIFE

The task of a Life Coach is to open the eyes of his Coachee, enabling him to visualise a new, different and better reality with attentive and non-anxious eyes: he/she must then facilitate and motivate the Coachee until the predetermined goal is reached.
The beauty of Coaching lies precisely in this: the freedom and lightness of a common 100% shared action.
The Coachee is no longer a potential sufferer facing very long and often useless periods of Psychotherapy, but a person capable of recognising and correcting, in real time, any error that takes him/her in a different direction from the desired one.

Life offers all kinds of experiences and, often, a calm and capable mind is needed to navigate and make the right decisions. Failure is often predetermined by prejudices and fears that are not under control.

Furthermore, the planning of the steps necessary to achieve a goal must be thought out precisely and wisley. Creativity, Consistency and Perseverance in commitment to the goal are also crucial to achieving the desired success.

Coaching for Life is an initiative Non-Profit aimed at all those people who have never managed to realise a certain dream.

Very often the gap between success and failure is so small that it is hardly visible, especially to anxious eyes. In the most difficult and complicated steps, the Life Coach will propose new tools to overcome every obstacle, every difficulty. Feelings of marginalisation or dangerous behaviours put in place to "be accepted" will no longer be part of the identity of a Coachee who is developing a positive and concrete Personal Growth, perfectly aligned to his desires. It is always a joy to have Coaches and Coachees working side by side on an existential journey that moves quickly towards new and better horizons. And we wish to share this particular and profound joy with you.

The main usefulness of this set of evolutionary techniques, which also originates from Neuroscience and Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is to design and implement a Personal Growth pathway aimed at achieving psychological, economic, social, sporting, relational or professional goals within predefined timeframes. It is well known that the outcomes of important choices can change the entire course of one's life either positively or negatively. It is therefore preferable to be prepared to face decisive trials with the help of a bright and reflective 'mirror': the Coach. The Coach 's support makes an objective comparison possible, facilitating the learning of powerful and specific resolution techniques related to human thinking and 'thinking' in general. Indeed, we must remember the close link that exists between "thinking and action", both winning and losing.

The Coach assists the Client by planning together with him/her the most suitable path to achieve the desired objectives and supports him/her in their practical realisation through the use of direct communication and innovative, effective, motivating and resolving strategies. Coaching techniques are used to identify, develop and express the latent and often unknown potential that each person possesses. By applying these new resources to a targeted and effective work programme, agreed goals will be achieved. Coaching, which allows a deep sharing of intentions and emotions between Coach and Client, is a fascinating journey during which significant Personal Growth always takes place for both.

Particularly in Generative Coaching, unlike Restorative Coaching, there is a true and deeper evolution of the Coachee who achieves his goals not in a purposive and instrumental way, but as a secondary consequence of the positivity and quality of the Change that is taking place.

THE ART OF POWERFUL QUESTIONS

The Coach 's task is to facilitate awakening because without awakening there can be no true and profound Change. The Coach must believe absolutely and totally, in the Client's possibilities of Change. That is why it is never good when a Coach accepts any assignment. One could say, with certainty, that: "Not all goals are for that Coach, and not all goals are for that Coachees...”. 

It is indispensable to be honest with the Coachee, even when confronting him/her with a possible failure, due to missing and impossible to recover resources, regarding the objectives to be pursued. This is an essential part of the Coach 's honesty and integrity that, when lacking, causes misunderstandings, controversies and negative judgements that extend to their entire professional category, as well as the failure of the Project.

Robert Dilts' advice must be remembered: "Coaching must be Art"

For this reason a Coaching Course can never be excessively "technical", rigid, formal but, on the contrary, it should favour the development of intuition, creativity and improvisation skills: in fact, these are the "excellent" qualities that will allow Coach and Client to overcome together any "rationally insuperable" barrier. In this way, technique, too, can become an instrument that is always 'alive', adaptable, and not a cramped element in which to enclose one's anxieties about success.
